Russia to lift ban on gasoline exports ahead of schedule

The government plans to lift the ban on gasoline exports ahead of schedule; the relevant documents will be ready in the coming days. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told journalists about this, TASS reports.

“It will be lifted; the documents are being prepared now. These are the coming days. It is difficult to say whether the restrictions will be lifted on December 1 or [on another date],” he said.

From September 1, the ban on gasoline exports from Russia was extended until the end of 2024. A similar ban was in effect from March 1 to August 31, but from the end of May to July, exports were allowed due to the saturation of the domestic market. The measure was also in effect in 2023 from September 21 to November 17, but then it also applied to diesel fuel.
