Russians want about 6,000 square kilometers of territory, Ukrainians want security guarantees: US Vice President

Negotiations on Ukraine have narrowed down to two main issues. US Vice President Jay DeWine said this in an interview with OEN.

“I think we’ve reached a point now where we’ve at least narrowed down the issues to a few key ones. One is territorial. The Russians want about 6,000 square kilometers of territory that they haven’t yet seized militarily. On the other hand, the Ukrainians want security guarantees, whether from the Europeans or anyone else, because they want to be sure that if they make a deal, the Russians won’t come back in a few months or years and demand more,” the US Vice President said.
