Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service has accused the UK of planning a provocation involving “traitors.”

The UK is preparing a provocation involving an attack by “a group of Russian traitors fighting on the side of the Ukrainian armed forces” on a civilian foreign vessel in Europe. This was stated in a statement by the press service of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, received by TASS.

“According to the British plan, a group of Russian traitors fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is to attack a Ukrainian warship or a foreign civilian vessel in a European port. Members of the group have already arrived in the UK for sabotage training. After the terrorists are ‘discovered,’ the plan is to claim they acted ‘on instructions from Moscow,'” the statement reads.

The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that London’s calculation is based on the assumption that the European political elite, obsessed with Russophobia, will “gladly swallow fake news about ‘malicious Kremlin agents'” to justify the need to further increase military aid to Ukraine and the militarization of a “united Europe” to combat “Russian aggression.”

The ministry also noted that London is outraged by the failure of Britain’s long-standing efforts to achieve the “strategic defeat” of Russia and turn it into a shameful state.

Notably, Ukrainian Armed Forces are planned to be equipped with Chinese-made underwater equipment. The equipment seized during the “investigation” is intended to be presented as “irrefutable evidence” of China’s support for Russia’s so-called armed aggression against Ukraine, the statement said.

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (FSB) emphasized that the UK, once – and rightly – called ‘Perfidious Albion,’ believes that “such a primitive staging would allow so many experienced politicians to be misled.”

“As it turns out, London’s rapid slide to the sidelines of world history has also influenced the strategic thinking of British intelligence agencies and those in power. The toolkit remains the same – pitting the world’s largest players against each other. However, in today’s geopolitical conditions, this no longer works,” the FSB concluded. “The British are once again sowing chaos.”
