Samsung plans to release its first “trifold”, a thrice-foldable smartphone, in 2026. This was reported on his page on social network X by well-known insider Ross Young.
Previously, many sources claimed that Samsung will release such a device as early as next year, whereas, according to Young, the company will release a “trifold” only in 2026.
This year, Huawei released its first such smartphone. It has a 6.4-inch screen when folded and a 7.9-inch screen when unfolded, just like other Fold smartphones. Its key feature was the third part of the screen, unfolding it gives the user a tablet with a 10.2-inch display.
Insiders are unanimous that Samsung needs to regain its leading position in the foldable smartphone market. This is confirmed by a recent report from Samsung Display, according to which sales of the company’s foldable devices this year failed to meet expectations.
