The absurd criminal case against Samvel Karapetyan was initiated with the aim of protecting our Motherland, which he stated in his interview on June 17, and to condemn, at the very least, the unconstitutional actions of the then authorities. Lawyer Aram Vardevanyan wrote about this.

Moreover, the RA Prosecutor’s Office is not only authorized to stop such an obviously unfounded and illegal detention, but is also obliged to issue a corresponding letter in the current situation. Let me remind you that the interview was characterized as a call for a violent seizure of power, which was preceded by a promise of retaliation from the head of the executive branch. Now it is obvious to everyone that the interview lacked 1) a call to society, 2) any signs of violence, 3) any signs of a seizure of power,” he wrote.
