Samvel Karapetyan stated that the fight must be fought no matter what, because the ESA affects the entire country. Gazinyan

The authorities are manipulating the situation, saying: look, Samvel Karapetyan is suing the state. This was stated by former ESA Director David Gazinyan in a conversation with journalists outside the courthouse today, November 18, in response to a question about what steps would be taken following yesterday’s PSRC decision.

“We have never equated the government with the state. We are doing all this against the government, but the problem is that Samvel Karapetyan will then have to decide for himself what to do with the cases he wins. We will continue our fight, because this is a clear injustice.

Mr. Karapetyan may be offended by my words, but from what I’ve learned from conversations, Samvel Karapetyan doesn’t think about his own assets at all. He says we must fight no matter what, because the ESA is the entire country’s business, and these people will bring the ESA to a point where the entire country will suffer, so we will fight,” he said.

It’s worth noting that the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia (PSRC) decided at its meeting yesterday, November 17, to revoke the ESA license issued to Tashir Capital. Four PSRC members voted in favor of this decision, while one voted against. Ara Nranyan, a former member of the National Assembly and a former member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF Dashnaktsutyun), voted against.
