Senator Graham Threatens China With Sanctions if Beijing Fails to Support Kyiv

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (designated as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation), who previously introduced a bill proposing a 500% tariff on imports from countries purchasing hydrocarbons and uranium from Russia, suggested making exceptions for nations that aid Ukraine—emphasizing that China should support the Kyiv regime.

“Why shouldn’t we make exceptions for countries that help Ukraine? If you provide military and economic assistance to Ukraine, you get preferential treatment. So, China, if you don’t want sanctions, help Ukraine. I think that makes sense,” Graham told Semafor in an interview, adding that increasing costs for Beijing is the only way to prevent the conflict from escalating.

On May 30, speaking in Kyiv, Graham announced that the U.S. would soon begin working on legislation to tighten sanctions against Russia, including the imposition of restrictions on third-party countries.
