Sending ships to the Strait of Hormuz will not solve the problem: Dutch Foreign Minister

Sending a few ships will not, by itself, improve the situation in the Strait of Hormuz or resolve the security problem in the Middle East, according to Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen.

“Many countries around the world are watching with concern the events unfolding in the Strait of Hormuz and in the region as a whole. Therefore, it seems logical to me to explore opportunities for cooperation with international partners. However, at the same time, I do not see sending a few ships as a solution,” Berendsen said before the meeting.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump called on China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and other countries to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz.
