The press secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov is sure that the issue of Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation cannot be postponed until the 2026 elections. He expressed his opinion in a conversation with journalists on May 9 during the Immortal Regiment march.
The politician recalled that a year is quite a long time, and during this time Pashinyan can still do a lot of things.
“What will you do if tomorrow he announces the withdrawal of the Russian base or border guards? And declares that he is now taking a course towards NATO, as before towards the EU?” Sharmazanov asked, emphasizing that Pashinyan is acting against the interests of Armenia and Armenian-Russian relations. According to Sharmazanov, Pashinyan is just a tool in the hands of foreign players, while his predecessors as the head of Armenia were a factor, trusting and promising partners.
