Swedish MP Erik Helsborn sent a video message on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, calling on the Armenian people to remember the past and look to the bright future.
As reported by Armenpress, the Swedish MP in his video message, in particular, noted:
“Hello, Armenia, greetings from Sweden. My name is Erik Helsborn, I am a member of the Swedish Parliament. Today is the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The Swedish Parliament voted to recognize the Armenian Genocide back in 2010, and now, together with the Armenian Embassy in Stockholm, we are holding an annual ceremony in memory of the victims of the Genocide.
This year, Ms. Anne Granhamer, author of the book “The Dream of Armenia, Armenians and Swedes Through a Thousand Years” will take part in the ceremony. I have not read the book yet, but I am looking forward to reading it.
This week, there will be an Armenian-Swedish business seminar in Stockholm, where we will discuss Swedish investments in Armenia and trade between our two countries. I am sure that this will benefit both countries and make us richer and stronger. I also hope that it will contribute to strengthening the ties between Armenia and Sweden, as well as with the rest of Europe.
My Armenian friends, Christian brothers and sisters, I wish you all a worthy celebration of Remembrance Day with your families and loved ones. Remember the past and look to a bright future. God bless you,” Eric Helsborne said in his video message.
