The armed opposition that seized power in Syria intends to hold accountable security service members and military officers who are “involved in the torture of the Syrian people,” said the leader of the Syrian opposition, Ahmed al-Sharaa, known by the nickname Abu Muhammad al-Julani.
“We will not hesitate to hold accountable the criminals, murderers, security service members and military officers involved in the torture of the Syrian people. We will pursue war criminals and demand their extradition from the countries to which they fled so that they can receive fair punishment,” al-Sharaa said on Syrian state television.
