Georgia is ready to restore its strategic partnership with the United States from scratch. This was stated today by Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili in his annual address to the Georgian Parliament.
According to the President, Tbilisi has already developed a special “Partnership Roadmap” detailing the interests of both countries. Kavelashvili emphasized that Georgia’s vision and that of the new US administration coincide on many issues.
At the same time, the Georgian President spoke out sharply against the European Union, accusing Brussels of interfering in the country’s internal affairs.
“It’s no secret that, especially since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the European bureaucracy has blatantly interfered in our country’s internal affairs and acted with double standards. It seems they still haven’t come to terms with the fact that Georgia is a sovereign, independent state,” he stated.
Kavelashvili emphasized that Western partners must recognize Georgia’s status as a dignified and sovereign state guided solely by its own national interests.
