On the eve of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the Alternative Projects group presents an article by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, founding member of the Pan-Armenian Council of Diplomats Vahagn Melikyan.
“The 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide should become a collective and united NO of the Armenian people living in Armenia and beyond, to lies and falsifications, denial and non-acceptance, false ideology and anti-national policies that are passed off as the “real Armenia.”
They
What is the real reason for the fear of admitting the fact of the Armenian Genocide? Precisely out of fear, because it is fear that makes the executioner and his entourage so furiously deny the crime they committed. The fear of admitting sin and, as a consequence, compensation for damages, the nightmare of meeting with the Supreme Court for generations. The denial of genocide by the perpetrator is also aimed at convincing his compatriots that either it did not happen, or the reasons were so serious that the expulsion and murder of an entire ethnic group is justified, naturally, using all possible instruments of lies and deception. With the enemies, everything is clear…
“Ours”
As for “ours” – people whose surnames end in “Yan”, who lived, studied and grew up on an equal footing with us, enjoyed the benefits of this land and the results of the labor of this people, breathed the same air and drank the same water with us. Here everything is much more complicated.
For the sake of personal gain, mythical privileges or some material benefits, only an inhuman creature can jeopardize the fate, memory and future of an entire nation. They differ from ordinary people by a complete lack of empathy, love, faith, honor, dignity and morality. Their weapons are lies, deception, slander, threats and violence. It is this set of weapons that is used daily and continuously. They believe only in what is tangible and edible. However, they become powerless when the average person stops being afraid of them and taking them into account.
A person is a harmony of feelings, imagination, flight of thought, compassion, devotion, honesty and justice, action and responsibility. This means that everything unnatural, artificial, invented and imposed will cause anger, rebellion and rejection in a person.
The above is directly related to the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. A day of great importance and directly related to our memory, remembrance, identity, faith, solidarity, unity and struggle. A day that is in the blood of our elders, our children, our sisters and brothers living in all corners of the world, all Armenians, it is in our veins, it is an integral part of our genetic code. It is also a deep awareness of the strict responsibility of the torchbearer in the universal fight against the crimes of genocide and their prevention, as well as an unwavering willingness to listen to the pain and tragedy of others.
Manipulative attempts to devalue the death of millions of our ancestors, to make us forget the heritage taken from them, and in fact, to erase the memory of an entire people from us, be it spiritual or material, speak of the fear of judgment and retribution. Therefore, the march of every worthy and intelligent Armenian to Tsitsernakaberd, to the monument that perpetuates the memory of one and a half million of our canonized victims, is our signature and seal, our unconditional answer to the fact that the deniers, unbelievers, distorters of history and the so-called reinterpreters have been rejected three times. We remember, we demand and we never deny. The memory of the righteous will be blessed.
