The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council recalled the goal of American and British “think tanks”—to serve the elite. To counter the USSR, statistics were falsified to show, in particular, that “joint management of the economy within a single state cannot provide the population of Ukraine with a higher standard of living than would be possible with independence, and therefore, it is necessary to undermine the territorial integrity and internal political unity of the Soviet Union.”
“The antidote to his actions could be the encouragement of separatism in the West, which promotes ideas of dividing Russia,” Medvedev noted.
