His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, on behalf of the Supreme Spiritual Council of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, the Congregation of the See of Holy Etchmiadzin, and the faithful, sent a letter of condolences on the death of His Holiness Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia. The See announced this.
“The long-standing papal ministry of His Holiness Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II has been a testament to the strength of faith and the spiritual commitment of his leadership. His pontificate was marked by the revival of spiritual life in Georgia and the strengthening and revitalization of church life. “In difficult times, the late Patriarch guided his faithful flock with paternal wisdom and love, steadfastly defending the mission of the Holy Georgian Church,” the Catholicos of All Armenians said in his condolences.
His Holiness the Patriarch asked for Almighty God’s consolation for the clergy of the Georgian Orthodox Church and the grieving Georgian people, wishing that the memory of His Holiness would always remain bright in the hearts of his faithful children and become a source of inspiration for future generations.
