The court extended the pretrial detention of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan for another three months.
It should be noted that a motion was filed with the court requesting pretrial detention as a preventive measure against Ghukasyan.
It should be noted that as a result of extensive investigative operations and covert investigations conducted by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee’s Operational Investigative Department, evidence was obtained in the cases of the Gyumri community leader and chief architect regarding extortion and bribery with prior consent.
As part of the criminal case, decisions were made to open public criminal cases and arrest eight individuals, including the community leader.
