The elected, and in fact, appointed, leader of the Communist Party of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan stated in Syunik that “Syunik will become the gates of Armenia’s development for further development. If we can open these gates (referring to the Meghri section), the future will provide us with great opportunities for development.” Secretary of the “I have the honor” faction Tigran Abrahamyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“Firstly, yes, providing you, your political team, a corridor to Azerbaijan and Turkey can open up opportunities, but you have little connection with the Armenian people and the Armenian agenda.
Secondly, linguistic thinking suggests itself: the current authorities are talking about opening the “fortress gates”, but this is not an entry to economic development, but an invasion of Armenia with the aim of taking control of a package of political control under the guise of the economy.
The authorities are directing all their resources to convincing the public not to focus on the term “corridor,” the political consequences of this process, or the geopolitical tsunami, but to think only about money, material goods, and personal interests, which will create a misleading impression,” Abramyan wrote.
