The elections are already rigged. Serzh Sargsyan

Today, journalists asked Serzh Sargsyan, the third President of the Republic of Armenia, whether he considered the government’s decision to raise pensions and “suspend” changes to the new water supply schedule several months before the elections to be election bribery.

“The elections are already rigged,” Serzh Sargsyan responded.

He added that qualifying the aforementioned government steps as election bribery would be considered a political statement, but the fact that the elections have long been rigged is an obvious fact.

“This is a fact, and no one can deny it. If people are arrested, if public funds are spent differently than in a non-election year, these are violations. In other words, if a highly respected person from a political party is arrested, isn’t that a violation? And how does falsification occur? That’s exactly how it happens,” he said.
