Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev greeted each other, but, according to the Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, there was no substantive contact.
“They greeted each other with Aliyev, shook hands, but, in essence, there was no substantive (that is, a substantive conversation aimed at practical results — editor’s note) contact this time,” Peskov told journalists in response.
