The EU extends sanctions against Russia for one year.

The European Union has extended its sanctions against Russia until 24 February 2027. This was announced in a decision published on the website of the Official Journal of the EU.

“In the second paragraph of Article 10 of Decision 2022/266 (JHA), the date ’24 February 2026′ is replaced by ’24 February 2027,'” the document states.
Russia has repeatedly stated that it will overcome the pressure of sanctions, which the West began to impose on Russia several years ago and continues to escalate. Moscow has noted that the West lacks the courage to admit the failure of sanctions against Russia. Western countries have also repeatedly expressed concerns about the ineffectiveness of anti-Russian sanctions.
