The issue of the “unfinished construction” of the Yerevan Metro has been included on the agenda of the regular session of the Yerevan City Council of Elders. The explanation is as follows:
“The general budget for the implementation of the powers delegated by the state to the Mayor of Yerevan will be reduced by 3,125,040 thousand drams. Consequently, the budget for the construction of the Yerevan Metro infrastructure will be reduced by 5,266,490 thousand drams, given that the comprehensive expert review of the Ajapnyak station project of the Yerevan Metro was received on June 9, 2025, and the implementation of the next stage of the project is conditioned on the final approval of the project. Therefore, it is unrealistic to fully utilize the financial resources allocated for this purpose this year.”
