It is obvious that during the entire trial no serious evidence was presented by Davit with a criminal act, said the 3rd President Serzh Sargsyan before the court hearing in his case, referring to the arrest of the head of the Masis community, Davit Hambardzumyan.
“In addition, an unprecedented period was applied under that article, naturally, that period was applied so that the amnesty would not affect that sentence in any way,” he noted.
“European structures are also not responding, because they support these authorities,” added the 3rd President.
It should be noted that Davit Hambardzumyan was arrested yesterday at the Zvartnots airport.
Hambardzumyan was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison. The judge also revoked the bail as a preventive measure and imposed detention.
He was charged with violating public order and using violence against protesters during the 2018 change of power. In particular, according to the charges, on April 22, 2018, D. Hambardzumyan, together with a group of people, intentionally violated public order at the busy intersection of the Hayanist-Hovtashat villages of Ararat province. It was expressed in an open disrespectful attitude towards society and was accompanied by violence against the participants who had organized a march to the mentioned square to participate in the rally to be held on the same day at the Republic Square, using weapons and objects that were considered weapons and destroying property.
