The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia issued a statement regarding the transport connection in Kasakh.
“We inform you that within the framework of the program for reforming the unified route network, since the residents of the settlements of Kasakh and Proshyan in the Kotayk region protested against the withdrawal of transport serving the Yerevan community from their administrative territory and the introduction of interregional transport to the settlements, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of numerous meetings and discussions, proposed a number of options for solving the problem.”
In particular:
Reduction of the transfer fee:
Proshyan-Yerevan: 200 drams (instead of 250 drams)
Kasakh-Yerevan: 150 drams (instead of 200 drams).
Increase in the number of scheduled trips.
Access to Yerevan transport from the interstate highway adjacent to populated areas.
Increase in the number of vehicles.
Change of the end point in the city of Yerevan.
We regard the repeated protests and acts of disobedience by some residents after the above proposals and steps taken as destructive, which threatens the continuity of the transport reform and creates problems for residents of populated areas bordering the Yerevan community, where interregional transport is carried out.
The demands put forward also do not fit into the framework of the current legislation.”
