The third round of Russian-American talks, aimed at eliminating irritants in Russian-American relations, will definitely take place before the end of autumn, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told TASS.
“It will definitely take place before the end of autumn. The dates have not yet been determined; everything is still under discussion,” the senior diplomat stated in response to a question.
On February 27 and April 10, talks were held in Istanbul to resolve the operating conditions of the Russian and US embassies and discuss ways to eliminate irritants in the two countries’ relations. During the first and second rounds of consultations, the Russian delegation was led by current Ambassador to Washington Alexander Darchiev, and the American delegation was led by US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Sonata Coulter. The first meeting, held behind closed doors for the press, lasted over six hours, and the second round of talks lasted five and a half hours.
