“Today, the Vicar of the Masiatsotn Diocese, Reverend Ruben Zargaryan, met with several lawyers and human rights activists, awaiting their request,” the Masiatsotn Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church reported.
“During the meeting, Father Ruben described the alarming events that have occurred in the Masiatsotn Diocese over the past 15 days, specifically the obstacles, threats, interference, and other abuses recorded by local government authorities regarding the priests’ spiritual ministry.
Participants reviewed the warning letters presented by the priests, which clearly named the officials who pressured or hindered these priests. Unfortunately, such incidents continue to this day.
It was also emphasized that this pressure and threats have had a severe impact not only on the priests’ ministry but also on the mental health and inner peace of their families, as well as the members of these parishes.
These issues have also been brought to the attention of the RA Human Rights Defender,” the Masiatsotn Diocese noted
