The General Department for the Investigation of Crimes against the State, Foundations of the Constitutional System and Public Security of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has completed the preliminary investigation of a separate criminal case against 18 leaders and participants of the “Sacred Struggle” movement. This was reported by the Investigative Committee.
Let us recall that during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case against 18 leaders and participants of the movement, public criminal prosecution was initiated under Part 1 of Article 43-308 of the Criminal Code (preparation for terrorism) and Part 1 of Article 43-419 (preparation for the seizure of power).
A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against 17 persons, administrative supervision and a written undertaking not to leave were chosen against 1 person. The criminal case against 18 persons was sent with the indictment to the supervising prosecutor with a motion for its approval and referral to the court for consideration on the merits.
Note: The accused of committing a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in the manner established by the Criminal Procedure Code, by a court verdict that has entered into legal force.
