The regime is consistently destroying all the components that made Armenia a factor. Sharmazanov

It is an obvious fact that from 1991 to 2018, Armenia was a factor in the region, and this fact was taken into account by both regional and extra-regional players, wrote Eduard Sharmazanov, a member of the Executive Body of the Republican Party of Armenia.

“Armenia was a factor primarily due to the Armenian Artsakh. Armenia was a state when the Armenian Artsakh existed, and the Republic of Armenia itself was the guarantor of its security. Without Artsakh, it is a completely different entity.

In October 2022, by recognizing Artsakh as an integral part of Azerbaijan, Pashinyan clearly weakened the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia.

Secondly, the strengthening of the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia was also conditioned by the Armenian-Iranian border and Armenia’s complete control over the roads in Syunik. By effectively transferring Syunik’s roads to external control, Pashinyan has ceded the Republic of Armenia’s sovereignty and is promoting the implementation of the “Panturan Corridor” project, regardless of its name.

Thirdly, the Republic of Armenia also served as a significant regional factor thanks to the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant. It is no coincidence that both Azerbaijan and Turkey spared no effort for decades to shut it down.

Today…” The Pashinyan regime, by approving an ineffective and incredibly expensive modular power plant construction program, is effectively closing the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, further limiting the Republic of Armenia’s energy independence.

And fourthly, the Armenian Church has significantly contributed to Armenia’s emergence as a regional and international factor. By fighting against the Armenian Church and the Patriarch, the regime is weakening and dividing it.

These facts clearly demonstrate the steps taken by the rulers of the Republic of Armenia to transform the state from a factor into an instrument.

The regime doesn’t bring sovereignty, but effectively transfers Armenia to external control, where Turkey could also play a significant role.
