The second Russian airline Superjet in 24 hours made an emergency landing due to a malfunction

A Sukhoi Superjet 100 of the Russian airline Azimuth made an emergency landing in Krasnoyarsk, Baza writes. The cause was a malfunction of the hydraulics of the front landing gear. The incident occurred on the morning of November 24. Flight RA 89080, flying Mineralnye Vody – Ufa – Krasnoyarsk, signaled an emergency landing and landed in Krasnoyarsk at 11:45 local time. Passengers and crew members were not injured.

This is the second Azimuth Superjet in 24 hours to experience a breakdown. Another plane, flying from Sochi to Turkey, caught fire after landing at the airport in Antalya, Turkey. Passengers had to urgently evacuate through an inflatable ramp. There were 95 people on board. There were no casualties.

The airline reported that one of the plane’s engines caught fire: the cause was a rough landing due to “wind shear.” According to a Kommersant source, the investigation is considering pilot error as one of the versions. It is noteworthy that a month ago, the same Superjet damaged the landing gear doors during an emergency landing at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport. At that time, this happened due to a hydraulic system failure. The plane was flying from Mineralnye Vody to Ivanovo.
