The situation in Kapan is heating up

Yesterday it became known that a petrol station in Kapan was dismantled because it was operating in violation of regulatory requirements.

“We were told that the gas station had been operating for over 4 years and belonged to pro-government businessman Edgar Hakobyan, who is a well-known developer. During one of his visits to Syunik, Pashinyan also visited one of the new buildings built by his company.

The city says that the head of the community, Gevorg Panosyan, who has recently become a target of the authorities, has also gone on the counterattack and decided to no longer turn a blind eye to the gas station that does not meet safety standards, and has decided to dismantle it. Especially considering that, according to our sources, the State Duma (the ruling Civil Contract party – ed.) is going to make the owner of the gas station, Edgar Hakobyan, mayor in the upcoming elections.

Edgar Hakobyan told us that Parsyan is a close friend to him, and he essentially has no objections to this decision, since he was building a building next to a gas station, and now it was time to receive a completion certificate, which they refused to provide due to the presence of a gas station.

At the same time, the entrepreneur considered it inappropriate to comment on the issue of the authorities nominating his candidacy.

“The city has a mayor now. Yes, I heard that they want me… I have a very high-level relationship, friendly relations with the prime minister, the ruling wing, but at the moment I have no intention of engaging in politics, while we are engaged in business.”
