The UK will increase the supply of drones to Ukraine tenfold and will provide 100,000 drones by April 2026. This follows from a statement by the British Ministry of Defence. In order to increase the production of drones, London will invest a record £350 million ($472 million) in their production by British defence companies. Investments in drones will be directed from the £4.5 billion that London previously allocated for military support for Kyiv.
The military department noted that plans to sharply increase the supply of drones to Kyiv are dictated by the fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have demonstrated the effectiveness of their use on the battlefield. It is expected that British Defence Secretary John Healey will make a statement about a tenfold increase in the supply of drones at a meeting of the contact group on the organisation of military aid to Ukraine, which will be held on June 4 at NATO headquarters in Brussels.
