“Today, Venezuela has some of the largest, if not the largest, oil reserves in the world. This is ‘heavy’ oil, mind you. Ukraine also has reserves. And, in fact, every war this century has been linked to oil in one way or another,” Petro emphasized.
He emphasized that Mr. Trump is not negotiating with Maduro about drug trafficking because he is not stupid. Trump is not thinking about democratizing Venezuela, much less about drug trafficking.
As a reminder, Trump previously announced the closure of airspace over Venezuela.
