According to Ynetnews, citing unnamed Israeli officials, the US plans to build a military base near the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip.
The planned base is expected to cost $500 million.
The base will house several thousand American troops, whose task will be to monitor the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
If completed, it will be the first major US military base in Israel.
