Technological revolutions and their rapid development have a huge impact on modern warfare, and traditional approaches, tactical and engineering solutions quickly become ineffective.
A few days ago, in his public speech, Serzh Sargsyan said that after the April war, the realities of military operations, weapons and the new situation were analyzed, and a 7-year plan for the development and modernization of the armed forces was drawn up, the core of which was the purchase of several thousand UAVs.
We are talking about a document adopted in 2017, which focused on the technological transformation of the army.
Later, after the well-known events in Armenia, the new government changed this program, focusing on changes that quickly solved PR problems: SU-30 with its famous selfies, the “strawberry revolution”, etc.
The amateurish, situational decisions and ideological distortions of these authorities led not only to a heavy defeat in the 44-day war of 2020 and the heavy losses that we suffered after that.
Even today, the changes taking place in the Armed Forces largely bypass the specifics of modern wars, constantly exacerbating existing problems.
