Within a few days of each other, the US Secretary of State and the Russian Minister of Defense discussed the situation around Armenia.
First, Secretary Rubio told the US Congress that there was a real risk of conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, adding that the US was trying to prevent it.
Then, a few days later, the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense spoke about the tensions around Syunik.
These statements were interesting, first of all, from the point of view that the statements made abroad in recent months have usually been about optimism and a quick resolution of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The people who made the two statements above are not random figures; moreover, they represent superpowers that have a detailed understanding of the military-political situation in our region.
As for the reasons for such statements, I think that this is connected not only with the current situation in the negotiation process, but also with the resistance of external actors in the region, which could lead to radical changes in the situation.
