Tornadoes over the Black Sea and waves up to 4.5 meters high are expected in Sochi in the coming days, the press service of the resort city administration reported.
“On December 17 and 18, in the Magri-Veseloye section, there is a risk of tornadoes forming over the sea. Strong sea waves are expected – 6 points with waves of 4-4.5 m high,” the report says.
The unfavorable weather forecast in Sochi remains until December 18. Heavy precipitation, winds up to 23 m/s, sharp rises in water levels in rivers, in places to unfavorable levels, snowfalls in the mountains, and avalanche danger at elevations above 1,000 m above sea level are predicted on the coast of the resort. City services are working in an enhanced round-the-clock mode against the backdrop of worsening weather conditions.
