Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has flatly rejected the possibility of the country joining the United States, saying it is absolutely out of the question.
“There is no way in hell that Canada will be part of the United States,” Trudeau wrote on his X social media account.
He noted that workers and communities in both countries benefit from a mutual partnership in trade and security.
Trudeau’s statement comes amid recent proposals by President-elect Donald Trump to make Canada the 51st state in the United States.
