Trump to appoint special envoy for Ukraine conflict

President-elect Donald Trump is considering appointing Richard Grenell, his former intelligence chief, to serve as special envoy for the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Reuters reports

Grenell, who was also Trump’s ambassador to Germany, would play a key role in Trump’s efforts to end the war if he is ultimately chosen for the job.

During a roundtable in July, Grenell advocated for the creation of “autonomous zones” as a means of resolving the conflict. He also suggested that he would not support Ukraine joining NATO in the near future.
