Trump urges international community to prevent nuclear war

US President Donald Trump believes that the use of nuclear weapons and the expansion of the club of nuclear powers is unacceptable. In addition, he advocates for the United States to hold talks with Russia and China on reducing the number of nuclear warheads. The American leader confirmed this on Wednesday at an investment forum in Miami, Florida, organized by Saudi Arabia.

“This should never be allowed to happen. If it happens, the world will be destroyed,” Trump said about the possible use of nuclear weapons. “We cannot allow other countries to acquire nuclear weapons. Not just Iran,” the head of the American administration is convinced.

He expressed confidence that he had “very successfully” interacted during his first term in power with Russian President Vladimir Putin on issues of limiting and reducing nuclear weapons. Trump also recalled similar previous contacts with Chinese President Xi Jinping. “Russia and we have the largest nuclear [arsenals], far ahead of [other countries in the nuclear club]. China is not close. But it will be close. “In three or four years, five years, it will be equal,” Trump said.

“But we were going to talk to China about it. And I had a very successful conversation with President Xi about it. I thought we would denuclearize. We would [also] have to get something from the smaller nuclear powers – three or four. Probably four. We would be able to do that. I had very serious conversations with President Putin about denuclearization,” the US president claimed. He did not provide details.
