Trump’s calls to Zelenskyy proposing a deal confirm that the Ukrainian side is the main obstacle to conflict resolution: Peskov

US President Donald Trump’s calls to Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposing a deal confirm that the Ukrainian side is the main obstacle to conflict resolution, stated Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

Reporters asked Peskov whether the Kremlin had seen Financial Times reports that the Ukraine peace process had allegedly been frozen because Trump had lost interest.

“Judging by his statements, President Trump has not lost any interest. Moreover, he is persistently advising President Zelenskyy to make a deal. And from these statements, it follows that the Ukrainian side is the main obstacle to the negotiation process,” Peskov told reporters.

Earlier, the US president stated that he was surprised by the Kyiv regime’s reluctance to reach a deal to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. As the American leader emphasized, reaching a deal with Zelenskyy is much more difficult than with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
