Two planes collided at a Russian airport overnight.

Passengers on flight FV 6097 Moscow-St. Petersburg were evacuated from the Sukhoi Superjet, which was preparing to depart from Sheremetyevo Airport, following a collision with another passenger plane on the runway. The Rossiya Airlines press service told Kommersant.

“Technical services are currently inspecting the aircraft. Passengers have been evacuated from the terminal building, and loading onto the backup aircraft for the flight to St. Petersburg began at 11:08 PM Moscow time,” the press service reported.

According to available information, there were approximately 100 people on board the aircraft at the time of the collision. The tail section of the Sukhoi Superjet was damaged as a result.
