On the night of April 25, Ukrainian drones again attacked the city of Shuya in the Ivanovo region, where the base of the 112th Guards Missile Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces is located, the regional operational headquarters reported. As Shot reports, citing local residents, several powerful explosions thundered in the city and alarm sirens were heard. “Emergency services are working at the site of the fallen debris. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties,” the operational headquarters clarified. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that a total of 79 drones were shot down overnight, 60 of which were intercepted over occupied Crimea. The report mentions only one drone destroyed over the Ivanovo region.
This is the third attack by Ukrainian drones on Shuya in less than two weeks. Before that, the city was attacked by drones on April 16 and 17. As Astra established, the first attack damaged the barracks of military unit No. 03333, and the second time, according to the Exilenova+ Telegram channel, one of the drones hit a hangar where Iskander ballistic missiles are stored, causing a fire. Before that, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, accused the 112th Missile Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces of attacking Sumy on April 13. Then 35 people were killed, more than 100 were injured. Budanov claimed that Sumy was attacked by Iskander-M/KN-23 missiles.
The day before, on April 24, Russian troops struck Kyiv with cruise and ballistic missiles. One of the missiles hit a multi-story residential building in the Svyatoshinsky district. Twelve people were killed and 87 injured, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said. The attack on the Ukrainian capital was the deadliest since July 2024, when 34 people died, including children at the Okhmatdet hospital.
