Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv will repay the €90 billion in European Union loans for 2026-2027 only if Russia pays the corresponding compensation.
He made this statement in Kyiv at a joint press conference with Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro.
“We have received €90 billion for 2026-2027. And you know that we expect to use all €210 billion of Russian assets. And we understand that Ukraine will repay these €90 billion in interest-free loans only if Russia pays Ukraine the corresponding compensation,” Zelenskyy said.
