The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has ruled that most import tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump against foreign countries are illegal. As reported by Armenpress, Reuters reports.
It is noted that the decision was made by a vote of 7 to 4.
At the same time, the court left the tariffs in effect until October 14 so that the US presidential administration could appeal to the Supreme Court.
US President Donald Trump, commenting on the court’s decision on the social network Truth Social, emphasized that the abolition of tariffs “would be a real disaster for the country.”
“This will weaken us financially, and we need to be strong. The United States will no longer tolerate huge trade deficits, unfair tariffs, and trade barriers imposed by other countries, both friends and foes. They hurt our producers, our farmers, and everyone else. “If this decision stands, it will literally destroy the United States of America,” Trump wrote.
