At today’s DOK party congress, it was decided that Vardan Ghukasyan, known as “The Dog,” who is currently in an American prison, will be the DOK alliance’s candidate for prime minister in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
In a voicemail sent to party members from Henderson Prison, the latter insisted that DOK is running for election under his leadership.
“I am a locomotive,” Ghukasyan declared, expressing hope for a quick release from prison.
“People are going crazy in this prison,” Vardan Ghukasyan told party members, asserting that “even a dog couldn’t survive these conditions.”
Incidentally, Vardan Ghukasyan expressed a desire to move from the United States to the Russian Federation.
A US court ruled that Vardan Ghukasyan violated that country’s immigration order and must leave the country. The US court also rejected the Armenian authorities’ request for Ghukasyan’s extradition. In Armenia, criminal proceedings have been instituted against him on a number of charges, including extortion, incitement to violence, and threats against a judge. However, Ghukasyan denies the charges.
