Venezuela’s armed forces are preparing for a guerrilla response in the event of a US attack.

According to Reuters, citing sources, Venezuela is deploying weapons, including decades-old Russian equipment, and plans to organize guerrilla resistance or sow chaos in the event of a US air or ground attack.

This approach is a tacit admission of the South American country’s shortage of personnel and equipment.

US President Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of a ground operation in Venezuela, stating that a ground operation would be the next step following a series of strikes on suspected drug trafficking vessels in the Caribbean and a significant increase in the US military presence in the region. He later denied any plans to strike Venezuelan territory.
