We are doing this to ensure the survival of our state. Pashinyan on removing the Ararat symbol from the stamp

In general, such an issue has not been discussed and cannot be discussed in any Armenia-Turkey negotiations. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a briefing after the government session, referring to the decision to remove the image of Mount Ararat from the RA entry or exit stamp.

“The factor of legitimacy is key in the security strategy, when we must recognize the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia, with its internationally recognized territory and borders. We are doing this to ensure the survival of our state,” he stated.

Pashinyan noted that before 2004, that stamp did not exist, what did that absence mean, and when the stamp appeared, what did it mean?

“In the near future, I will talk about the model of patriotism within which all decisions were made, and now all the steps that we are implementing are being implemented to strengthen Armenia’s statehood, sovereignty, and security. We are doing this to make Armenia the most responsible international member,” the Prime Minister said.

Then he gave an example: “All those who, for example, stop at a red traffic light, is it because they are afraid of other road users, is it because other road users have threatened them, of course not. They do it because they want to ensure their normal life, and we are doing this to ensure the normal life of the Republic of Armenia.”
