Recently, there have been more frequent attacks on the Constitutional Court and individual judges on public platforms, social networks and some media due to individual, group or other group (mainly political) interests. The Constitutional Court issued a statement on this matter.
“The Constitutional Court has always been guided by groundless and meaningless statements of interested persons or organizations, no matter how defamatory they may be, directed at the Constitutional Court, judges or employees of the Constitutional Court, without addressing them, according to the principle consistent with the status of the High Court.
Nevertheless, it is obvious that in the conclusions of amateur analysis, questioning the legality of judicial acts, the dissemination of information discrediting judges or employees of the Constitutional Court, attempts to mislead the public by deliberately distorting the content of the decision of the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court, there have been more frequent attempts to disseminate disinformation, as well as attempts by judges and employees of the Constitutional Court to make statements with the aim of discrediting employees.
We call on individuals and groups engaged in such activities to refrain from attempting to distort the content of the SC decision(s) and to first read the CCDO-1749 decision before making public statements.
We draw the attention of the media to such unlawful manifestations and believe that tolerance for such ongoing behavior is unacceptable and should be legally assessed if it continues.”
