Imprisoned businessman Samvel Karapetyan made a statement, which reads:
“Dear compatriots,
Our very first rally confirmed the authorities’ main fear: our people are confident in their strength and will not be broken by repressions. I would like to once again express my gratitude to the tens of thousands of my compatriots who showed civic courage on July 4 and to this day.
I am also sincerely grateful to everyone who expresses support for me. My message has been discussed a lot lately, but, unfortunately, there have been various interpretations that are divorced from reality. I think I have expressed myself very clearly: we will create a fundamentally new political force.
I have great respect for the political forces and figures who are still waging a real fight against the anti-people policy of Nikol Pashinyan’s government. But we have our own vision of building a bright future for Armenia. And we will go our own way, with our new team, not excluding domestic political cooperation. with like-minded people. We will try to unite our people around fair and great goals.
We will reject black and white and other artificial divisions that this government has imposed on society, dividing and weakening our country.
Even in various circles of the current regime there are real professionals who do not share the values of a narrow group, but still do not see the path that they would consider a way out of the current situation.
The formation of our political team has begun.
We will do it in our own way.
