While the public discusses individual episodes of the 44-day war and seeks answers, the overwhelming majority of high-ranking military officials with knowledge of its decisions and details remain silent. Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the “I Have the Honor” faction, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“Moreover, some of them appealed to the commission created by this government or expressed their willingness to do so, but did not consider it necessary to speak about it publicly.
Of those who remained silent, Jalal Harutyunyan was sent to prison as a “reward,” and many are under investigation for various criminal cases, but only a few military officials with knowledge of the matter have spoken out, and even then only to a very limited extent.
“Those who sit quietly at home, awaiting their turn in prison, have only one option: speak the truth and, to some extent, alleviate the deep pain that pervades society.
Otherwise, the authorities don’t accuse, slander, or insult their subordinate commanders and soldiers, and they maintain a strange silence, thereby empowering themselves and concealing real crimes,” Abramyan wrote.
