The head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Elon Musk topped the list of super-billionaires, which includes only 24 people from all over the world. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal newspaper, citing data from the analytical company Altrata.
According to the company, today we can talk about the emergence of a new category of ultra-rich people – super-billionaires, each of whom is estimated to have a fortune of at least $50 billion. Altrata identified 24 people from all over the world on this list. In first place in the rating is the head of SpaceX, Tesla and X, Elon Musk, whose fortune is estimated at $419.4 billion. He is followed by the founder of the online retailer Amazon Jeff Bezos ($263.8 billion), the owner of the luxury giant LVMH Bernard Arnault ($238.9 billion), the head of the technology company Oracle Larry Ellison ($237 billion) and the CEO of the Meta corporation Mark Zuckerberg ($220.8 billion).
In total, the 24 richest people in the world account for $3.3 trillion, which is comparable to the nominal GDP of France, Altrata calculated. The wealth of 16 people on the list exceeds $100 billion. Moreover, if in the 19th and early 20th centuries the wealthiest people were industrialists, then most of today’s super-billionaires earned their capital working in the technology sector.
